Much has been written this past business week about the Apple high yield savings account being a tipping point for where people may park their savings from now on.

It was just in early March that the turmoil unleashed by the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank opened up for the panic that smaller banks could face a bank run, so depositors flocked to the major banks.

But given high yield savings accounts being now mentioned in the news they are noticing that the rate these banks offer is rather meager and considering moving their money.

And that”s where the term stickiness comes into the picture. The whole commercial banking structure is built on the foundation of sticky deposits, essentially a way for banks to retain their customers.

No wonder the major banks are concerned about Apple.
