Disruption to London Heathrow - Washington and London Heathrow - Baltimore Services
In view of latest severe weather reports from the United States, British Airways has taken the precaution of cancelling the following flights on Thursday September 18:
BA225 Heathow-Washington service.
BA217 Heathrow-Washington service.
BA223 Heathrow-Washington service.
BA 229 Heathrow-Baltimore service.
As these aircraft would normally depart over-night in the USA and then return to London the following day, the following return services have also been cancelled for September 18:
BA224 Washington-Heathrow service (arrives next day).
BA216 Washington-Heathrow service (arrives next day).
and for September 19th:
BA222 Washington-Heathrow service (arrives next day).
BA228 Baltimore-Heathrow service (arrives next day).
In light of the expected high winds and heavy rain in the Washington area, we believe it is prudent to avoid leaving these aircraft on the ground until the weather conditions improve.
Passengers booked on any of these services will be offered the option of re-booking, re-routing on an alternative BA service or a full refund. Passengers should call 0870 850 9 850 to take up one of these options. Overseas customers please click here for your local contact details.
We apologise to passengers affected by these late cancellations but the safety of our passengers and crew is always our number one priority.
The airline plans to operate the rest of its US services as normal although it will monitor the weather situation very closely.
