Am in need of an overnight hotel at SEA on the back end of a FCO MR on US in March and was just looking at Marriott family brand properties near Sea-Tac. The option for this MR lowly silver is a CY at USD 69.00/night and get 10 points/dollar plus my silver bonus or a RI nearby for USD 49.00/night but only get 5 points/dollar. Part of me was tempted to opt for the CY and the higher points until I figured it out and we're only talking about approx 500 MR points in total and would that be worth 20 bucks? I know both properties won't be exactly equal, but all I really care is clean & comfortable with free airport shuttle service as it's a forced overnight, not a sightseeing stop.

Think I'll opt for the Residence Inn but curious to hear some feedback on the subject. Everyone else play this game and, if so, how often?
