I just jumped over from accor, and in Accor, its always been both rooms get upgraded, both get lounge and both get free breakfast in restaurant.
All Adults in both rooms
From Marriott properties, I believe I got 2 rooms upgrade in around 1/4 of my stays.

Accor properties interestingly, usually more generous in this matter. About half of the 2 rooms stays got both rooms upgraded.

Although for 1 room bookings, Marriotts properties tend to provide more generous upgrade.

Agreed with lounge access and breakfast benefit. Experience similar things with Accor hotels.
