Yes, they were certainly busy. Perhaps that is why. However, experiences in other lounges certainly shows that it is possible. GH BKK is one example - they have never failed to ask for a drink order no matter how busy, morning or evening. Horizon club TPE.

Some places come over immediately and ask what I needed when I start at the coffee/tea area - I took that as a subtle cue that they would much prefer to not have guests doing so.
Are we talking about the same lounge here?

The teapots and tea/coffe cups are all on the shelves right by the espresso/hot water machines. And there are jars on the countertops with the lids labeled with the different tea types. So it has never been a problem making my own tea, when they have not offered it. Or if I wanted to get a refill after they had offered.
