Trying to cram a multi-person Japan trip into spring break from the states is never realistically going to be a good candidate for award flights (well at least not more than one person being on an award) because you just don't have enough flexibility in your schedule - and that's before you even factor in post-covid pent-up demand and everyone and their mother having 3 years worth of miles saved up.

So get one of you a J award if you can, and suck it up and pay cash for the others... Or come immediately after school gets out for the summer before it gets too toasty over here :-)
