Despite that and despite knowing the staff well, there were also plenty of times I wasn’t proactively asked what I wanted to drink at breakfast or during cocktail hour. Pre Covid they were most consistent in asking. Post Covid, service has gone downhill (everywhere IMO). Don’t let it bother you too much and know they aren’t singling any of you out. I was a top customer for a decade and saw the same thing play out for me so it’s the norm.
She prefers tea and it strikes me odd to be rummaging around their drawers trying to find their teapot and everything else. During this stay, we had to take turns leaving the table. It strikes me odd, particularly during breakfast, to be shown to the table and just leaving.
Yes, they were certainly busy. Perhaps that is why. However, experiences in other lounges certainly shows that it is possible. GH BKK is one example - they have never failed to ask for a drink order no matter how busy, morning or evening. Horizon club TPE.
Some places come over immediately and ask what I needed when I start at the coffee/tea area - I took that as a subtle cue that they would much prefer to not have guests doing so.
