If not, you should be fine. And even if they are excluded on paper, that may not be the case in practice. (CVS offers, for example, often exclude GCs & still pay out anyway.)
Last year, I bought an in-store BestBuy gift card in response to a Chase Offer, and the transaction that showed up on my credit card was something different than “BestBuy” (I forget the name). Despite several phone calls, I was out of luck.
