Its been a "thing" for about four years now. Seen it for the first time in Poland 2018

100 points for not having your bin changed in an Ibis - ok with that

100 points for not having the free minbar re stocked at a Sofitel - not a chance !

TBH with the Ibis, you can always go to reception and ask for more toilet paper or clean towels anyway and keep the points - if that's your thing, the 2€ you gain may pay for a coffee for the second welcome drink that you did not get
