Kicking forward an old thread... my cousin and I stayed at the Delta in Bristol last week. It kicked up a search result for a "family room" with two queen size beds, which definitely attracted our interest. We can recommend the hotel for anybody in a similar situation, and at least for our stay the price was very affordable.
The room itself was perfectly unspectacularly fine. Queen beds were good and a nice change from twin beds in London, bathroom was tiny, TV was large with about 50 channels. We didn't use any of the hotel facilities. The Cabot Circus shopping and dining area was two blocks north, with a lot of chain restaurants and a few independents, and a Sainsbury Local.
Getting to/from Bristol Meads station, we found the 8 bus coming from the station (to a stop about 2 blocks SE of the hotel) and the 1 or 2 bus going back (from a stop 1 block north of the hotel) was very easy. The 24 bus goes from the same stop as the 1 and 2 and goes all the way to the stadium for Bristol City (end of the route) which was very convenient after the match.
We stayed there for three nights, although we took the train to Cardiff one of our two days. I'd much rather stay here than the properties around Temple Meads.
