I have a JFK > CPH roundtrip that I booked with united miles in economy saver (~30K one way) and looking to upgrade my seat anyway possible to business. Right now the bid is $1080 minimum for a business upgrade or 44,000 points (each direction). I made a eurobonus account but I can't buy any miles or have any transferred to me until the account is 1 year old.. what kind of a rule is that?

Rebooking the same trip via flysas.com directly would be ~$7500 per person RT for business class unfortunately.

Anyway what are my options for earning points? I can't open any SAS credit cards either as I'm not eligible given I don't live in Sweden/Finland. Is there anything I can do short of paying the $1080? TY.
