For the ferry leaving the house at around 6am to ensure you make a 7:00am ferry then the drive into YVR through morning traffic, park and maybe you make a meeting by 9:15. A long start if it's a day trip.

I'd much rather take AC for the 2 or 3 times a month I'm required to go over. If I can get a seat on the 6:30 I don't even hit the airport until 6:00 (thank you Nexus) and even with the normal flow control delays I can Skytrain downtown and be there before 8 for a quick breakfast with a colleague. I definitely see 4 or 5 other regulars heading over for a day of meetings and a few doing this almost daily on unlimited flight passes.
This 100%...I'm in YCD. I just checked EF and a bit more space available.

I typically have never had issues booking first flight out, but I also typically will do it 3-4 months in advance on a Comfort fare, that way if I don't need it I can cancel.
