not sure why people just keep making this assumption since nothing in the policy says this. The day of departure D1 upgrade list will in fact include people confirmed and ticketed in Y if the GUC is applied correctly. This has been documented in this forum approximately 2000 times.
I have been given the opposite answer from an phone agent: in order to appear on the D1 upgrade list you must first be confimed into PS. If this is not possible ( no space ) nothing will happen. No GUC will be taken but no spot on the upgrade list either. The agent knew about GUC handling but told me that she can not put me on the upgrade list before i've been confimed into PS which was not possible...She could only apply the GUC IF there is space into PS available. So can an agent put someone on the DoD D1 upgrade list WITHOUT upgrading the pax into PS first?
