I do find service on late-night NH flights to be somewhat more passive, but never to the extent where receiving service becomes a challenge. But I'm also quite used to this style of service on SQ's sleeper service flights.

my return is on SQ at night(1830), and im allowed to pick 2 dinners haha. guessing dinner on Japan time, then dinner again on LA time.
This thread only concerns the late-night departures. The daytime/evening flights get a full meal after takeoff. You can view the menus online.
