Quite true that SeatGuru has the brand recognition as it's been around forever, which is now partly why it's not relevant.
Since aeroLOPA actually shows the actual distances between seats and also the windows and so on, it's pretty much simple enough to work out where to sit. In my opinion, seat reviews are less relevant when you are being shown an image which shows the seats and cabin to scale.
You're correct that the name is not so snappy though. Hardly anyone outside aviation would know that LOPA is the airline term for Layout of Passenger Accommodations.
