Drivers can wait in lot by Sea-Tac for cell call

Picking up passengers may be a little bit less hectic this holiday season at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

The airport has opened a free cellphone waiting lot, about a two-minute drive from baggage claim. It's located on South 170th Street in front of Doug Fox Parking.

15 spaces is a minimal start at Christmas, considering the snarl of cars I encountered at SEA early yesterday afternoon, but I hope enough people use it that it is converted into a permanent fixture. It would be useful for us, or at least for our son who picks us up there from time to time.
