Probably not as much for business but it would make it easier for me to get to Taiwan. Also another gateway to get to Asia without transferring. Right now the only other Star Alliance carrier to get to Asia is on ANA through Tokyo. There are 2x IAD-TYO flights, one ANA and one UA. Sorry, Air India doesn't count!!.

Could then get a flight from HKG to BKK on Thai or use Singapore Airways to get to SIN. I wonder if UA will actually ever fly that IAD-PEK route again. But maybe there could be an Air China partnership through HKG to get you to mainland. A lot of creative ideas!!
