If one way awards are now more than half the round trip amounts, this could get challenging.

This sounds like it could be an important change. Previously, all AAdvantage awards were one-way. A round-trip redemption (whether SAAver, AAnytime, or Web Special) was actually two separately priced awards that could be canceled and refunded independently. Is that no longer the case for AA flights? Does a round-trip award on AA still specify a mileage price for each direction? Is this amount now
less than each one-way would cost by itself?
