If your seat has changed then you'll get an error when trying to scan your old boarding pass, the GA will typically just write your new seat on your old BP or give you a new BP.
Just curious what the aversion is to stopping by a kiosk, club, gate etc. to get a new BP? I would never want to board a flight with a BP that wasn't for my actual seat.
