From what I recall, there's no US-Schengen transit without security at CDG, no matter where you arrive. Arriving at K or M gates will send you to the green tunnel, then immigration, then security. Arriving at L gates will send you to the security check at the L gates and then to the passport control between 2E-L and 2F.
