Has it been explained how the new “no changes to award tickets” will work if you are mid-trip? Say I book a JFK-LHR trip, and after flying the first segment to LHR, I need to change the return flight. Do I have to cancel the existing reservation (with a pro rated refund?) and then look for a one-way award home?

If one way awards are now more than half the round trip amounts, this could get challenging.
