Can I assume that if I watch availability like a hawk on a daily basis up until the actual departure date, is it fairly likely I will be able to get the 5 nights I need? It seems that about a month out from the current date there is sporadic availability even right now, so I was wondering if it is likely that I will be able to get all the nights as long as I spend the time to keep looking every day for a year. I don't mind paying cash for 1 night if I get unlucky, but it would be an absolute deal breaker if there is some decent chance that I would have to pay cash for 2 nights or more.
What's early March for you? They had 2/29-3/3 just a day or two ago and 3/6-3/9(ish, 4 nights around that time) within the last two weeks (don't ask me why I know lol, hilton.com has been a religion for me this past month), so if you're looking at those days, just keep in mind at least one award room was taken. Maybe someone can answer how many do they usually ended up releasing for this time of the year?
By the way, I was able to secure 3 nights so far, one at a time in February, unlike the two lucky parties above.
Now that we're on this topic.... If I'm able to secure 5 consecutive but separate reservations, did anyone ever try to ask the Diamond desk to have a three way call with the hotel and see if they can work with their inventory and let me combine the reservations into a single 5th night free reservation? No way I'm risking all my efforts with cancel and hopefully rebook.
