Welcome to flyetalk and the BA forum.

Unfortunately,The BA policy is not to through check on different tickets ( even to a different BA flight) so you will probably have to collect your bags and recheck. If you were on Qatar for the first leg. then they would

Now you may get very lucky at LGW and BA would check through but I would certainly not plan on this.

On separate tickets , a 2 hour transfer time is very short as the 2nd airline would be under no obligation to assist if you missed the flight due to the late arrival of the first flight
