Just spent a night here and while I usually stay at the new Residence Inn at JFK I decided to check this place out as my meeting was only a few minutes away.
My notes:
- Staff is great. I checked in at 7PM and my room was somehow not ready right away, so I was given two $10 vouchers for the bar/restaurant, but then before I walked away from the desk I was given my room key
- There is no functioning work desk inside the room (as mentioned by dawgmanOH)
- There is no free breakfast
- I booked the Concierge Lounge floor so I could get access to (included) dinner, breakfast, non-alcoholic drinks, coffee and a quiet work place
- Cool roof-top hangout, plus you can bring drinks from the bar here without closing out your tab
- Restaurant is decent, but they were out of the burger when I ordered
The construcitive criticisms:
- The food in the Concierge Lounge was not great, breakfast or dinner.
- Dinner was popcorn chicken and a browning salad
- Breakfast had pretty good scrambled eggs and decent sausage, but the potatoes were undercooked and they used red onions
- Drink options are limited and the quantities are also limited. I was only drinking sparkling water and they ran out without replenishing. (I drank one at night and one in the morning for the record)
- The "desk" table on the chaise lounge chair was rocking back and forth
- The "handle" on the toilet closet door was loose and no matter what I did it didn't tighten. It's just a screw knob through the frosted glass. Should probably have some Loctite
- The bed frame rocked whenever I moved
- Curtain was missing some trolleys
I'll probably stay here again only if the pricing is better than alternatives in the area.
