I've already spent over $1k so I suppose I can just wait until my statement posts to see how many points I get.
Some people, like yourself, will get the targeted 55K offer as an email or when signing into CIBC.com. If you applied from the link that you saw at the time, then you’ll get the 55K offer. If you call and ask a frontline CIBC phone rep, they may or may not be able to tell if you’ll get the elevated extra 5K offer. Regardless, I wouldn’t rely on whatever they told me anyways, as it’s now in the hands of their applications/offers systems. You’ll just have to wait till you see the statement after reaching the $1000 MSR, which is when they will post the points that have been accumulated by spending and from the signup bonuses.

If you end up with 50K then you can call CIBC to see if a supervisor can “make it right”, with the additional 5K, and refer to the email or (hopefully) screenshot that you took at the time during the application.

I should’ve mentioned the targeted offers by email/CIBC-logins in my earlier post. I’ll amend.
