Shell and contactless
I was filling up my car yesterday and saw a sign at the Shell station saying that you can tap your card to pay. The pumps had a Verifone contactless reader mounted on them. Well, it's a big fail. First I tried tapping my phone and it declined. Then I tapped the card itself, and it also declined. Inserting the card worked properly and I was able to pump gas.
Why is it that contactless STILL cannot be relied upon to work properly in all places? The card I was using was a Bank of America Visa credit card.
