Sadly that’s the state of many Hyatts in China, and with existing properties aging fast and QC incompetencies Hyatt has become “just another” chain in China. Competition has caught up on design and F&B, and comparable new openings are mostly underwhelming (new HRs resembles more of Courtyards in the region than truly “5-star” properties, nor do the upcoming Park in CSX and the Andaz in NKG look anything exciting). Hyatt used to stand for something special and had set itself apart from the IHGs and Hiltons alike in the region, but the former glory is no more.
