Pre-check Lite isn't really weird, lots of places offer that, e.g., smaller airports that don't physically have space for a separate screening lane, like EYW. You have to take your laptop and liquids out like everyone else because there's no way for the screener behind the machine to know the bag is Pre-check eligible, vs. you showing the Pre-Check Stamp on your BP (or sometimes they give you a bright-colored card) while you walk through the metal detector.
