I like the videos as well, though I have nothing against the manual demo. I can "see more" of what is going on. With the manual demo, often seats are in the way of line of sight, so it's a bit annoying.
Either way, I religiously pay full attention to the crew doing the demo or the screen for the duration, every single time. Always have, always will. I've read far too many books on aviation accidents to take safety for granted.
If anyone's interested, perhaps the best four books to read are Air Disaster Vol. 1, 2, 3 and 4 by Macarthur Job, by a long shot. Well researched, well illustrated and no sensationalism. They begin with the Comet accidents in the 1950s and go right through to the 1990s, presenting the facts of the accident, what was found in the investigation and how that contributed to safety today. Sounds dry, but it's really not, they're well written books.
