As someone else mentioned, it's exactly like the Qantas Points Plane's they've been doing for a little while, entire flights for redemptions only.
I guess it helps get through the mountain of Avios people must have after the pandemic!
Because the value of the spend (Avios, Cash and loss of Avios) can be in excess of what a straight forward revenue ticket would cost, not to mention all the hoops one has to jump through to find availability in the first place. It's about time BA followed Virgin and awarded tier point on rewards bookings. It would benefit frequent travelers rather than someone who earns Silver from one BA holiday.
