Having selected the Fruit special meal myself, a couple of times, my remarks about this:
- Once in Y, the rest of the opportunities in J. It's effectively the same in Y and J, with different Chinaware and cutlery.
- It's a huge amount of sugar, all that fruit. Which may lead to hyperactivity and/or sleeping issues.
- And a lot of liquid, too.
- And it digests less easy than expected, for example compared to orange juice or so.
All in all, IF I would order a fruit place for the kid, I would let him eat from the "healthy" snacks as meals and have the fruit items as snacks during the flight.
Or, maybe consider the kids-meal anyway and bring some whole fruit yourself. Don't forget to dispose, before entering your destination country, to avoid being mangled by customs for bringing food items into the country.

My experience after the flight:
1) Kids meal - unattractive and pretty much a re-plate version of Y kids meal
2) Seat selection - if you haven't selected any seats in advance, they will put you to sit with your minors together automatically.
