If you purchased your tickets on evaair.com, you can get into your reservation and select seats for everyone. Do that as soon as possible. If you don't, then you will be assigned seats when you check in, which risks that you will not all be able to sit together.
I didn't pay for seat assignments on my recent SFO-TPE-PVG trip, and I ended up in choice seats, BUT I was traveling solo. I was quite impressed by their SFO staff.
