Just got back from a 4 night stay here. Was a little nervous about all the lukewarm reviews, but we really loved our stay here. It's obvious they had to make some serious design choices since this used to be an office building and agricultural university (specifically, the no wall separating the bathroom and bed area, actually getting to the Wooftop and spa, or having to take two specific elevators to get to the rooftop restaurant and pool), but that said, the room was comfortable and the staff are AMAZING.

As I believe someone said here, the breakfast options are limited, and because we travel with a 4 year old and 10 month old, the seating arrangement of the breakfast restaurant was really not good (no high chair for infants, super low or super high chairs only that aren't good for 4 year olds). However, that was remedied by doing room service our last 3 out of the 4 nights. There are actually more options on the room service menu and we were just altogether more comfortable eating in our room than in the "restaurant." I'm not sure if it's because the staff liked me, or if they do it for all globalists, but they completely wiped off all breakfast charges including the room service delivery charge. It was all adjusted at check out.

Some people complain about the pool here, but we loved it. Yes, you are swimming in front of a restaurant full of people because the pool glass is very, very, clear, but we didn't care. The pool is heated and our last two days felt like a bathtub in the best way possible. So relaxing. My girls LOVED it.

I am a globalist and booked an Andaz Suite using an SUA. We were further upgraded the day before to City View Suite. I believe it's the same layout but just on a higher floor. The room is slightly cramped, but not that bad for a city hotel AND there are two full bathrooms. No bathtub unfortunately, but two showers. The bathroom in the living room is separate and properly divided off by walls. The bedroom bathroom, as mentioned above, however, is not. Hope you're comfortable with your partner as they will be able to hear you fart and poop.

People say the layout of the hotel is confusing, but I disagree. You have to have a pretty terrible sense of direction to not find your way around and see that the Mondrian and Andaz are two completely different entrances. Also, the staff knew me by name when I got out of the uber and immediately walked us to the lobby, so that was impressive.

Finally, it was my wife's birthday and I told the staff that ahead of time. They gave us a delightful matcha drink at check-in and when we got to our room surprised us with a ton of green balloons (my wife's name means "green" in Japanese), a macaron-topped cake, balloons on the door of her age, and a framed picture of us saying happy birthday (they asked me for a picture ahead of my arrival). On top of ALL that, the first time we went to the rooftop pool, the staff knew who we were and offered my wife and I two birthday cocktails AND a mocktail for my daughter. Really kind stuff.

We didn't eat at Cabuya or Wooftop, and only had one breakfast at Derba, but ordered room service for dinner a couple times and it was prompt and very reasonably priced.

My wife and I discussed at length where we'd stay next time in CDMX, and while the Hyatt Regency is probably more comfortable for our family with a larger room, bathtub, and club lounge, I think we'd do the Andaz again thanks to the AMAZING location of this hotel. Condesa is SO awesome and there is so much to walk to in the area.

Hope this helps. Happy to answer any questions. I know I had a lot that weren't answered because of the lack of any blog reviews, etc., about this hotel.
