I can buy economy and upgrade/waitlist for both PE and J. It seems to not be date dependent (and multiple US airports to LHR - definitely ORD and EWR). Has anyone else noticed this? Is it other routes as well? I can still buy PE tickets (w money) on the same flights, the PE - J upgrade just doesn't appear when I do an MUA search.

That screen is an absolute disaster. What I recommend is, activate Expert Mode in your profile, and then just do a search and purchase through the regular flow, without selecting MUA. If you see PZ inventory, your MUA would clear immediately; if not, you'd be on the waitlist. Purchase the flights you want, and then, as soon as they ticket (normally within moments), you can go in and apply the MUA from your reservation.
