Naw. UA's cut quite a few early departures, especially out of LAX. One that made multiple cross country flights possible was the 6 am to SFO given how poorly the current UA serves LAX.
Also, UA's pushed more flights ex-LAX into prime time without concern for where you might be able to connect feasibly - as well as cut back severely for non-stop Western US regional legs - so you still have to go somewhere else such as SFO and DEN for the few UA/UX flights that are left.
Personally, I've mostly given up on UA out of LAX given the limited options now left.

I wonder if Kirby & co. are just planning on keeping current market share and praying that they can meaningfully win share back if/whenever Terminal 9 materializes.
Selling off T6 to AA was one of the dumbest things Smisek did, but that isn’t saying much given how terrible he was.
