Checked out yesterday and got told I had to pay city tax again as "they aren't allowed to charge it until you're in the city" but if you go do a dummy booking you can see it's already charged and itemised per person and per night.
To make it worse I originally booked semi flex and updated it to advance purchase to take advantage of an amex offer so I don't have the itemization of that rate.
Any ideas/inputs?
I haven't stayed here recently on an advance purchase rate, but I've also paid city tax separately on pre-paid reservations in Italy and beyond.
I had a quick look on the Hilton website myself - I noticed that the city tax is showing as part of the 'Total for stay' when using a pre-paid rate, but the 'Guarantee Policy' section gives the total amount that will be charged to the credit card as the amount without the city tax, so it might be worth double checking the amount that was actually pre-paid in EUR?
