As a kid I would have smashed that meal. The spicier the better, but that was just how I was raised and the food I was fed without option.

I hope OP's kid grows out of the pickiness, I can't stand picky eaters who always say they can find something to eat on any menu but somehow always fail to find something and then make it my problem (yes, dear wife, I'm talking to you!), which it seems OP did by canvasing the aircraft to gather census from the other 6 kids trying to enjoy a meal.
I did not "canvas the aircraft". Other people simply overheard the cabin crew’s apologies and suggestions about complaining and said they would do the same.
They were most certainly not "trying to enjoy a meal". None of them ate more than a few bites. One of them traded with another passenger that took pity on them

I am glad you are enjoying the thread so much though
