I'll preface this by saying, I'm in no way defending the guy's behavior. He definitely needed to be offloaded, and I think the cops were more patient with him than he deserved. After watching the video I think I'd chalk this up to mental illness, maybe exacerbated by drinking. I find it hard to believe this situation would have escalated as much as it did due to being drunk alone.

I'll hazard a guess that I've had much more experience dealing with intoxicated people than any FA on earth, or anyone on FT, for that matter. (It's not something I'm proud of, or bragging about, just a hazard of the occupation.) I've seen hundreds of people become belligerent and argumentative when told they were getting shut down for the day. What I've never seen, is someone drag out the episode for that long, especially once the police arrived. That is usually always a wake up call, even to the drunkest person, that the party's over. Then, to cry like a baby as he was being handcuffed, and act like he couldn't believe it was happening....I'm quite sure the guy might have already been intoxicated, but to my eye there was something else going on as well. Maybe he was on some psychoactive drugs, or he's mentally ill in some other regard. I just don't think this was solely due to booze.
