It is the same as any data point posted on the internet. It is an anecdote that captures a person's experience.
More data points: I have received complimentary suite upgrades at the PHNY since making that post (from the base room). These upgrades were at stays made through a preferred agent either with a TA or FHR as a Globalist
There are many factors that go into upgrades beyond mere status ranging from room rate to history at that specific hotel. It is no secret that many NYC hotels loathe giving upgrades on redemptions. It is what it is.
