You best call up in that situation since if there was availability an agent may have been able to resolve that for you. You can fix changes to bookings within 24 hours without having to pay change fees. I hope you have a long interval between the flights at LHR since once again you don't have a connection. If your IAH service is delayed beyond a certain point then you will lose your BCN tickets and with it any saving. Because you have 2 days in Barcelona it seems to me better to have a really long connection in LHR then you can recheck the baggage as well as having leeway at the BCN end. Otherwise it's best to stick to the official dimensions or you risk the reclaim + recheck anyway.

That doesn't sound like a Cunard cruise line, if it docks in Dover, but that cruise line company does have a facility to send luggage ahead direct to the ship before departure via the White Star service. Other companies may offer something similar.
