The only way that the upgrade would have any chance to clear would be if there were a ton of people canceling. Given the domestic Israeli political situation, that's a possibility, but I don't know how likely it is.
ETA: The return flight (12:55 AM Monday April 24) doesn't look great either, although it's at least a little better. There are 7 seats available on that one, but I'd be willing to bet there are more than 7 people on the waitlist, so again I think you'd be counting on some cancellations.
Ah got it...I can sorta see how that works now. I was hoping to surprise her for this marathon flight, which oddly is her first trip over the Atlantic and longer than any flight I've taken to Europe. She'll be fine in the back with her friends I suppose. Appreciate everyone's helpfulness!
