Am looking to buy a ticket from London to Catania and then back from Palermo. Weirdly, I’ve discovered that if, in the Lufthansa app, I put in London to Munich and then Munich to Catania (but still on the same booking) it’s nearly £100 cheaper than buying London to Catania on exactly the same flights. Is this correct, or if I put my card details in, will it just come back with ‘sorry the fair has now gone up’ type of thing. Also, and more importantly, if I do book it as separate flights, will Lufthansa still cover if I should miss the connection at Munich. The connection time is 1 hour 55, which seems plenty. But you never know. Actually there is an earlier flight from London (and £18 cheaper) but that gives a connecting time of 3 hours 55. But that seems way too long to spend waiting in the airport.
