Connecting Lounge: I think a push here. With AA I have access to CCR (yes, may be denied based on reports) and the FC lounge. LH has FC lounge. If connecting in MUC I may get driven to plane if at remote stand. The MUC connection would give LH the advantage. If my AA/BA connection was leaving LHR T3 then AA would have the advantage but it isn't.
I think you're downplaying the LH connecting lounge. It's not a lounge. It's an isolated First Class Terminal where you're picked up at the jetway and driven to it along the tarmac in a Porsche and then driven from said terminal to your connecting flight and go right up the jetway stairs to the entrance of the plane. They fly 3 different variants on that route, but the one to aim for is the 747-8. If it's an A330/A340, research the F seating as I'm not sure when those were refreshed. Not sure where you're located in the NY area, but LH also gives you the option to fly from EWR.
Since you said you're using points in either scenario, that's even more reason to take LH.
