If I do not want to the upgrade on the return flight only outbound, I am not sure how to prevent that.
Is this something that requires a call after you book, or do people book these flights as two one-way tickets? Maybe other options?
Post booking, it is easy to select the direction you wish to request MUA
During booking. selecting the MUA option (not always the best choice if you want to use credits), the upgrade requested flights are a different column from the regular booked flights. Just skip the upgrade request column if you don't want to try for an upgrade
In either case, upgrade ,are entirely separate requests for outbound and return.
