The QSuite was far better than the 2-2-2 configuration but I didn't consider the 1-2-1 non-QSuite was much of a downgrade.
We both sat in window seats on all flights. I had a seat in the rear J cabin on the first A350-1000 flight and I strongly recommend avoiding that. Not only is the engine noise considerably louder there, but the lavatories and galley seem more bothersome than similarly located seats up front. In fact, the mid galley seems to be where the crew gathers to gab for hours on end. Whenever I got up to use the lav I felt like I was interrupting something.
Although this is a QSuites thread, I'll also note that the food quality, variety, and quantity has declined noticeably, bathrooms were not kept particularly clean, the IFE selection seemed more limited than I remember, and on all but one of the flights the service was pretty perfunctory. I'll find another thread to post details on that. It's sad to see the slippage.
Exactly my thoughts. Will not bother to chase Qsuite cabin on my next bookings. I would be more concerned which kind of crew you are going to get rather than Qsuite or the 1-2-1 configuration. On my last flights crews have been hit and miss.
