Unfortunately, going to Tel Aviv exchange booths is not a realistic choice for me. I live along the Lebanese border and have a 3:30 pm flight to Rhodes on Friday afternoon. Taking Rte 6 is the only feasible way for me to get to TLV. I had hoped to avoid double exchange charges ($ to shekels and then shekels to Euros) but there is no place in Kiryat Shemona that I can do that. I wound up withdrawing 2000 shekels from BoA at an ATM and will bring them to the sole exchange point in the city. I am hoping that they have 500 Euros in cash, if not, they will give me a credit slip which can be used at Bank Hapoalim in Terminal 1 -- assuming that it is open on Friday afternoon. If not, I will have to look for a place in Rhodes get Euros and then bring the credit slip back to KS to get my shekels refunded.
