Huh. I had a similar issue with SK. Feel a bit less crazy to know I'm not the only one with this semi-rare issue, but also feel sorry for the both of us that this otherwise-straight-forward issue may be unresolved because no one at the carriers cares enough to solve it.
I bid for an upgrade on South African Airways a few years ago and "won". It was quite some work to get Aegean to correct that and award me miles for my original itinerary!
