Delta on WestJet Hardware: Pilot Strike Implications
Some time ago, I purchased from Delta a two-adult late-July/early-August roundtrip IAD-YYC. Although both the outbound and return nonstops have Delta flight numbers, they are scheduled on WS hardware. To be safe, I gave us an extra day in Calgary before beginning a prepaid Canadian Rockies tour. I gather from recent news reports that a WS pilots strike is increasingly possible (/likely?). As a newbie, I am not clear what the implications would be if that happened. Obvious questions are: (1) if it happened, would I take up rescheduling with Delta or with WS; (2) if it happened, would there be any compensation implications; (3) should I be taking any pre-emptive actions now (e.g., cancelable backup),? Perhaps there are other questions I should be asking? Your advice would be gratefully appreciated.
