My previous J trips on QR were in 2011 and 2015. We just completed a DFW-DOH-SIN round trip and my impression was that the quantity, variety, and availability of the food has declined noticeably, as well as the level of service.

They say you can order anything you want whenever you want. Previously they were able to deliver on that. Now they appear to have limited amounts catered and you are pressed to select something immediately, even if you want to eat it later. Still, on my DFW-DOH flight two of the four mains were gone by the time they got to me. I could order soup or one appetizer, but not both. My choice of dessert was not available. The soups are still quite good, I love the mint/lime drink, and I second the comment above about the Bordeaux, but the dishes themselves were pretty ordinary. On SIN-DOH I ordered the Arab mezze and the pitas were rock hard and the bread was stale. In fact, only on the first flight was the bread warm and soft. They still do the fancy tablecloth setup but otherwise the food is much closer to what I would expect on AA than previously. I would have killed for a salad but none was available on any flight.

I frequently had to wait for long periods to have dirty dishes removed and the toilets were often pretty messy. This was especially true on my SIN-DOH flight when there were only a handful of people in J, so the crew was hardly overworked. The FA kept mixing up my orders as well. On my DFW-DOH flight I was seated near the mid galley and the FAs gabbed loudly for hours. On most of the flights the chocolate gift at the end was just perfunctorily placed on the tray with no comment.

There were a couple of high points in the service. The DOH-SIN crew was pretty good, especially in contrast to the DFW-DOH crew, and there was an excellent male FA on the DOH-DFW flight, but overall things have clearly slipped.
