We have been chatting about this a lot in another thread. Remarkably, you can get the ANZ card and then book your flight using a different card such as AMEX and you will still get the boost of 50% from ANZ.

Now, will this remain a permanent bonus, I am highly skeptical, but right now it does indeed work that way.
